beginners course? Confident ewith basic chords and strums and ready for some fancy fingerwork?

This course will beef up your skillls and help you develop your musical creativity with the uke

# Max 15 to a group

Cost : £150  (10 weeks)

 

 

What you learn

 

# Understand movable chord shapes & barre chords in Major Minor and Seventh shapes

 

# Voicings (same chord on different places on the neck) to create variety in song accompanimenets

 

# Switch between different strums within the same piece

 

# More complex strums and fingerpicks - Triple Roll . Rasguado

 

# Use of riffs and fills

 

# Various ways of playing tunes simultaneously with chord accompaniment to make solo piec

About the course

Over ten weeks you will learn around 20 songs & pieces. Some are well known such as 

 

Hallelujah

Teenage Kicks

California Dreaming

 

 

But some are Hawaiian or traditional songs and may be less well known.

Also contemporary songs from the likes of

 

Nirvana

Radiohead

Amy Winehouse

Faithles

Lumineers

etc

 

Students are welcome to suggest songs for the group to learn. The group is mainly about having fun singing along to songs

 

We will be looking at how to make the songs come alive on the ukulele as original arrangements

 

 

To get an idea of what you can expect to be playing as a simple solo have a listen to tracks 3 & 4 Wildwood Flower and Pastures of Plenty
